This category lists all the templates which you can use elsewhere at the wiki. If you write {{templatename}}, the contents of 'Template:Templatename' page get included into the page. You can use {{subst:Template}} to do same but with a direct replacement of the template itself with its content at the page, so that if the template is changed after your edit, the page itself isn't.
