Channel Rules

The following rules, presented below, apply for the following channels: #globalshellz, #gshellz-radio, #gshellz-bots

In channel speak English only.

While we all come from different countries, English is the official language of the channel. Your personal site can be in your native language, however all communications with Channel OPs or Site Admins will be conducted in English.

Don't PM the OPs without asking for permission first.

This isn't just a rule to be mean. It is there to help maintain order in the channel. If you PM an OP who is idling, it probably will not do you any good by the time they return.

No color displays, ANSI art, public away messages.

These things cause clutter in the channel, waste time/energy/resources for everyone's systems. Don't be the person that causes this.

Absolutely no begging for "freebies", "extra access" or anything else related to the shell servers.

In order to keep things up and running smoothly, all the admins must coordinate access prior to giving it out. If you are offered or given special access, it will not come immediately for the same reason.

Please make all attempts to speak in English in the channels, however do *NOT* make fun of anyone who is trying.

There will be people who speak English as a second language. If you can identify these people in the channel based off their typing/grammar/spelling, please try your best to help them, not correct them. Trust me, if you joined a Chinese channel after taking 4 years of Chinese, people would laugh at you too.

Free speech for all.

Put someone on ignore if you don't want to hear it, but everyone has a right to a voice. Just because you have a right to a voice, doesn't mean you should abuse it. However, this is not a democracy, we will not tolerate any blatant hate, racism, sexism, or any kind of harassment in any Global Shellz channel. If this activity is witnessed or brought to the attention of a Channel Op or an Admin, immediate action will be taken.

No Warez/Haxx/Crackz Talk.

Freenode's policies are clear: no warez, hacking, or cracking talk or organization will happen on their servers, and despite what our opinions may be on the subject, we follow the rules and so will you in our channels.
