Request GCC

From Global Shellz Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

To request access to gcc/g++ just get a hold of an admin and let them know you want it, we will enable it for your account asap. Because you get it for so long we recommend you save up everything you need to do and do it for that one day. If you want permanent GCC access, you need to be at least a Benefactor.

GCC Access Rules

  • Users are given access for 24 hours every 48 hours (after expiration), this means if you request gcc at 9:30AM EDT on Monday you will have access until 9:30AM EDT Tuesday, and you will be unable to request gcc again until 9:30AM EDT Thursday.
  • All "makes" are logged and any attempt to compile exploit/rootkit or otherwise malicious code will result in immediate loss of your account.
  • Telling make to use multiple threads to build code is strictly prohibited, this is a shared server so we'd rather your compiles take a minute longer then peak all cpu's even for a second.

GCC FAQ

Q: I tried to make pimpapp but it says its missing library libuber?
A: Post on the forums here and tell us what library you need to continue your compile, after examination we may install it for you.
Q: OMG I just ran out of GCC time but i need to compile this super awesome app, can i just get a few more minutes???
A: You had 24 hours, it's not our fault if you don't manage your time better. Guess you have to wait a couple days eh?
Q: Is it against the rules to compile an app on my local box and upload it to gshellz?
A: Nope, feel free, currently both servers run Debian Squeeze but the US server is running a SMP i686 kernel and the EU server is running a SMP x86_64 kernel but has the lib32 libraries so compile properly for the node your on.
